Power and Performance
The new 9-5 SportCombi is available in two trims: 2.3T and Aero. It's equipped with a 2.3-liter, in-line 4, turbo-charged engine that churns out 260 horsepower and 256 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard, while a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional. Both trims have front-wheel drive.
Body and Styling
For 2008, the 9-5 SportCombi offers an abundance of space for passengers and luggage. The cargo capacity is 37 cubic feet when the rear seats are in use, and 73 cubes when the seats are folded. The new 9-5 is extremely comfortable, particularly when the ventilation feature is installed. The OnStar communications system is standard. In government crash tests, the 9-5 secured five stars for driver and front-passenger protection in frontal impacts. In the side-impact test, it earned five stars for front passenger protection and four stars for rear protection.
